  1. Overview of the Semantic Web
  2. Analysis of Requirements for Modeling of Personal Data
  3. Development of Schema for Modelling Resumes in RDF

"The Semantic Web is not a separate Web, but an extension of the current web in which information is given well-defined meaning, better enabling computers and people to work in cooperation." [1]

This paper explores the potential of the Semantic Web technologies in presenting and processing resume (CV) data. The author has analysed the requirements of systems for presenting resume data and how existing Semantic Web data representation schemas fulfill these requirements. Where existing tools and schemas were insufficient, author has developed his own solutions.

Semantic Web technologies and standards are in the beginning of their adoption and, in order to be able to process the information, we must describe it first. The goal of this paper is to develop a methodology for representation of CV data in the Semantic Web.

While exploring traditional personal data processing systems, the strategic analysis of Semantic Web usage is performed, in order to determine the benefits that this new technology brings and to answer the question is it feasible to implement it.

The technology used for the representation of semantic information inside this paper is Resource Description Framework (RDF), one of the basic technologies of the Semantic Web.

This paper could be useful as a theoretical reference for introduction to the Semantic Web and modelling of CV information in it and as a practival view of the Semantic Web technologies for web solution developers, system architects and their users.
