Wikis => WakkaWiki & forks

WakkaWiki is a lightweight WikiEngine powered by PHP and MySQL.
- WackoWiki is a fork of WakkaWiki.

The feature I like most is the “Page comments” part. This allows visitors to leave comments w/o having to change the actual text of the wiki - the process which may not feel normal people not familiar with Wikis.

[More:]

Wakka Features:

* Very light-weight
* Designed for speed and extensibility

* Quick and easy installation
* Integrated user management

* Access control through per-page access control lists
* Page comments

* WhatYouThinkIsWhatYouGet editing
* Full revision control

* Easily customizable !

* Support multiple sites running off the same Wakka installation

- see NetVillage : Home page for a nice implementation of WakkaWiki.

But unfortunately the development of WakkaWiki has stopped.
So - maybe there are forks?

Like i found b2evolution - the software i am currently using for this blog and also a fork of b2.

WakkaForks

WakkaForks contains a list of WakkaWiki forks.
Most promising of these forks (to me) seems WackoWiki.

WackoWiki includes full support for localization & skins (themes), while retaining the comment feature that I like in WakkaWiki.

WackoWiki differs from WakkaWiki:

* More visual formatting, mostly OpenWiki syntax
* Many actions and patches

* i18n
* skins support

* Subpages
* Visual diff and other pretty things from WikiNi.

* … many others changes …
